The overall goal of EDiHTA is to deliver a fit-for-purpose HTA framework for DHTs that integrates existing assessment domains and methods with new ones in order to inform decision-making. An innovative first of its kind, the HTA framework-platform will be developed to allow HTA assessments to be performed digitally in a standardised format that will be customised according to the type and lifecycle stage of the DHT and decision-making process at the macro (policy), meso (management providers) and micro (clinicians) levels.
EDiHTA covers the entire chain of innovation – from the analysis to the validation of the co-created digital HTA framework. The framework will be defined in all its aspects and made accessible and usable through an iterative digital platform that will guide stakeholders through it according to their needs while providing user guidance and methodological support.
The EDiHTA project consists of eight closely aligned and fully integrated work packages (WPs) which are supported by a thorough coordination and network organisation (WP1). Ethical, legal and socio-economic aspects related to EDiHTA will be assessed and adequately adapted WP2 whilst considering the emerging role of European Health Data Space (EHDS). The structure and content of EDiHTA will be co-designed and co-created in WPs 3 and 4 and digitalised in WP5. The outcomes of all five WPs will feed into the piloting in WP6 and be adapted continuously, which reflects the iterative or rather agile development process. WP7 and WP8, interconnected with the rest of the WPs, are dedicated to dissemination and exploitation respectively.
