The Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine, and Pain Therapy (KAIS) at Goethe University is a central facility supporting all operative areas of the University Hospital Frankfurt (UHF), which has 1,500 beds. KAIS specialises in providing high-quality anesthesia services, managing intensive care units, and offering specialised pain management solutions. The department is dedicated to ensuring patient safety and optimising treatment outcomes through the use of state-of-the-art technology and a team of highly skilled professionals. KAIS is also a hub for advanced medical education and actively engages in innovative research projects. These projects not only contribute to groundbreaking medical advancements within the hospital but also play a significant role in European medical science and healthcare delivery. Furthermore, KAIS is continuously testing and evaluating new health technologies to enhance patient care and treatment efficacy.
GUF plays a significant role in various tasks related to assessing and developing methodologies for Digital Health Technologies (DHTs), supporting in the identification of informational needs and legal requirements; participating in developing an evidence-based framework, and contributing to the overall design of an “umbrella” toolkit for DHT assessments.
Furthermore, GUF’s main contribution to EDiHTA will be the support in designing pilot protocols and engaging in the practical application and assessment of the EDiHTA framework in the clinical setting at the University Hospital Frankfurt.
