On 26 March, the EDiHTA project took part in an insightful webinar on Digital Health Technology Assessment & System Transformation, organised by Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) as part of their WP10 Shared Learning Events. The event, held in collaboration with EHTEL – Collaborating for Digital Health and Care in Europe, focused on the role of health technology assessment (HTA) for digital health technologies (DHTs) in driving the transformation of health and social care systems across Europe.
Key Takeaways from the Webinar
Experts from across Europe engaged in discussions on:
- The implementation and impact of digital health technologies in the EU.
- How digital health technology assessment contributes to the transformation of health and social care systems.
- The potential synergies between THCS and the EDiHTA project in advancing digital health innovation.
THCS and EDiHTA: Strengthening Synergies in Digital Health
THCS is a European initiative dedicated to accelerating the transformation of health and care systems through research, knowledge-sharing, and policy alignment. By fostering collaboration among digital health stakeholders, THCS promotes innovative, sustainable, and patient-centered healthcare solutions that are accessible to all.
EDiHTA and THCS share a common goal: enhancing the assessment and implementation of digital health technologies across Europe. While THCS focuses on systemic transformation, EDiHTA plays a crucial role in developing the first flexible, inclusive and ready-for-use European HTA framework for DHTs. The potential collaboration of two projects strengthens interoperability, evidence-based decision-making and the sustainable integration of digital solutions into health and care systems.
This webinar marked an important step in fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration in digital health assessment and implementation. Stay tuned for further updates on EDiHTA’s contributions to the evolving digital health landscape!
We extend our sincere thanks to THCS for hosting this event and providing a platform for the EDiHTA project. Special appreciation goes to all attendees and our EDiHTA representatives, Prof. Americo Cicchetti and Emmanouil Tsiasiotis, for their insightful contributions to the discussion.
